Surprise Birthday Party

I will start at the beginning. I wanted to have a co-ed bunco birthday celebration for my 35th birthday. so i started to plan my party, inviting only a small group of people to come and celebrate. My friend Jon even said "your planning your own party" Yes Jon, I was, lol. I sent out an Evite and everything. So, i go on making list's of things i will be needing and things i want to bake. My best friend, Harr, called me and said she wanted to take me on double date to the House of Blues Halloween Block Party the weekend before my party. It had been a year since our last double date so i was excited. as we get closer to the date of my bunco party, I make sure I have enough card tables. Friends saying I can barrow theirs and asking what food they can bring and so on..... I had Daniel ask my dad to babysit the boys. My dad said he could, then changed his mind (first red flag) then Harr was getting a babysitter for Easton and said that Kolby and Easton can be watched at my house (second red flag) why wouldn't she want the babysitter to put her boy to bed? we would be out to at least midnight. And that was going to be a little weird with Auston being at home too. I thought about it more and thought that it would be awkward for Auston having a babysitter here at the house watching the boys. So i called Harr, no answer. then i texted Harr about my mom just babysitting, no answer (third red flag). then Harr finally called me back and said ya it may be weird for Auston and to go ahead and call my mom, so i did. OK, babysitter in place I was ready for the night to begin. then i couldn't decide on what to wear. so i bribed Kolby to go to the store with me so i could find a new outfit for my night out. i found a cute dress and was excited it match the hot pink boa Harr bought me to wear.
Harr calls saying she can't get ready with Easton there so my mom is going to pick him up and bring him over to my house so she can get finished. Ok, no big deal. But then (fourth red flag) Daniel and I were going to pick up Harr & Sam. I thought why? they will just have to come back to my house to pick up Easton, why not leave from my house. Daniel says to me that it's not a big deal not to worry about it. OK.... So as we leave i comment to my sweet hubby "i am dressed for the club not a surprise party" lol. I was totally kidding and thought for sure we were still going downtown. As we drive to Harr's house, I scan the yard and street for cars. The only cars are down the street at the neighbors and it looks like they are having a party with all there halloween decor and lights on. I think nothing of it as my hubby and I walk up to the door and all the lights are off. Usually when Harr and I go anywhere she is still getting ready in the bathroom and that is the only light on besides the kitchen. So Harr opens the door I walk in and WALLLA "Surprise" my family & friends are there to celebrate my birthday with me. I was so excited and felt so loved. I have got an AWSOME BEST FRIEND!!! She is so amazing for doing this for me.

Do you think i look surprised? even after all the red flags, lol

Jon & Ginny... Ginny said I could barrow her car table. All along knowing about the surprise party. She even asked me what food she could bring and who else was coming, lol.

what my boys are up too

This winter Kolby had to move up to the Pinto league, from t-ball. There is a pitching machine and lots of added rules to get used to before spring ball. The biggest thing for Kolby is that there is 6 innings now and not just 3. He complains about going to practice and the games but, once we get there he is having a blast! I love watching him play, I am Team Mom and LOVE IT! Daniel is one of 4 coaches.

Marching season is in full swing for Auston. Auston has enjoyed going to the different elementary schools and having demonstrations of what they do. Daniel is hoping this will get the younger kids excited about band. We have had two tournaments so far, the first bringing in a 1st place win in our division and a score high enough for second place over all the bands (there is no trophy for second over all) the second tournament they were 5th out of 8 bands. they had some competition to say the least and have something to strive for. Daniel doesn't want his band to take an easy win, he wants them to be challenged and in turn this will make them a better performing band and musicians.

Here is the band at Kolby's school, can you see kolby in the hawaiian shirt?

Auston getting ready to perform in his first tournament of the season (he is all the way to the right, in the front row)

My boys are off to a great start! Including Daniel =)

It's been a year.....

Wow, can't believe it's been a year since my last post. not good.

Guess I'll start with my summer. My hubby & neighbor re-built the left side of our fence. Now it stands up straight! We are hoping to get the right side done by spring break. We took a week vacation to the Seirra Nevada's with my dad and Mary. It was alot of fun, although poor grandma Mary hurt her back and was not able to do much the whole week. This was the first time me and my boys stayed in a tent and brought a dog.

It was an experence to say the least. The 400 lbs male bear in our campsite at night didn't help us sleep to well, so we plan on buying a trailer for our next vacation.

It was so beautiful at Virginia Lakes! I remember some of it from the pictures of when I was a little girl. Can't wait to spend more time there with my family in the years to come.

We fished, kayaked and of coursed farkeled!! We love hanging out with each other. My dad caught two fish and Daniel caught only one. The boys and I caught nothing. But still had fun. Layla loved riding on the Kayak. We had fun taking her around the lake with us. She was a good dog, keeping an eye out for strangers the whole trip.

We took a trip to Bodie (we called Body growing up). I have been there my share of times as a kid and it was fun to share it with my boys. While the boys took the tour, Layla and I walked around taking pictures. It was a beautiful day.

So, although we didn't get to catch tons of fish and enjoy a huge fish fry, we did enjoy the three fish we fried up shared. It was so beautiful to wake up every morning and look out at the lake, take Layla on walks around the campground and fish on and off all day. Great family memories were made. God continues to Bless me and my family, I am so grateful.
