Who I Am...

Who I Am (Inspired by a close friend)

I am the lady of the house, a wife and mother. I am a CHRISTian, I believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins. I am on the Women's Ministry Board at my church. I love serving people through CHRIST. I am a stay at home mommy, which I love and Thank GOD that I am able to stay home with my kids. I do plan on going back to work full-time, MAYBE next year when my youngest starts school. I am surrounded by GREAT friends, whom I LOVE dearly and hope that they see me the same way. I am a listener, adviser, fixer to all who need it or what it. It is important to me that my family and friends are happy. I speak my mind, even if it gets me in trouble sometimes. I don't mind confrontation. I am a strong women, wearing my big girl panties (as auntie would say). I have to be. I am married to a man who works a lot and comes home tired, with no time for a honey do list. I mind this sometimes. I am married to a man that LOVES me wholeheartedly and spoils me, so that makes it easier. I love hugs and kisses, holding hands. PDA is important. This is breaking rule number 13 =) if there are any band parents reading this, lol. I love my tv programs. I admit, I have to many that I watch and try to spread them out so they don't interfere with me being a mommy. I love curling up on the couch and watching movies. I love family game nights. I love Apples to Apples and Farkling. I love taking naps with my son. I have insomnia at night. I have muscle pain throughout my body everyday and am trying to get a diagnosis from my dr.. I power through it. I get messages almost every night to help me with my pain. I am blessed with family and friends who pray for me. I have a wonderful family. My parents weren't good examples of a lasting marriage. I have learned from there mistakes what I don't want in my marriage. I forgive people quickly and try to learn from that experience. I was a bad girl in high school. I sold drugs. I have been in two physically abusive relationships. I was pregnant at age 19 with my first son. I was a single parent and proud to do it. I believe GOD had blessed me with a child to get me out of a bad relationship. And then GOD brought me my Husband. I became an active CHRISTian after my husband became a CHRISTian and showed a fire in his heart for GOD. Thank You GOD! I try and give all my worries to GOD and Thank Him everyday for the life I have. I love my coffee & my coffee friday morning with my friends. I love hosting coffee. I want to host bbq's but haven't gotten around to it. I am not a girly girl, but I do have fun dressing up and wearing make-up sometimes. I do get my nails done, I am a nail bitter. I love to find a good deal. Giving what I have if someone else needs it more than I do. I love to cook, trying new recipes. I love being in my 30's. I am almost 33 and feel like a real adult now. I love to buy purses. I am a reptile girl. I just put to sleep my Iguana BUD, he was my dearest reptile of 15 years. I rescued another reptile, Jojo, who is now laying eggs in her cage. I have a leopard gecko and a tokay gecko. I want more =) I wanted to be a herpetologist when I was younger. I married at age 21 in Las Vegas, in a church. I renewed my vows a year later in front of all my friends and family. It took me 2 years to get pregnant, then miscarried. I was pregnant with my youngest son a year later. I had 24 hour morning sickness. I lost 22 lbs the first week I was pregnant. That was hard nine months. I am not doing that again. I want to adopt later on. My heart has always hurt for kids who don't have parents to love them everyday. I have two younger brothers. I love them dearly. I want a close relationship with them. I am getting there with at least one of them. I love my sister-in-law. I can't wait to be an Auntie to their kids. I love to decorate for the holidays. I love Halloween. Dressing up and eating candy. I love that my birthday is shortly after. I love Thanksgiving, eating way to much. I love CHRISTmas. Remember what GOD had done for me. I love spending holiday's with my family. I love tri-tip. I love Wendy's chocolate frosty dairy desserts. My favorite restaurant is Olive Garden. MMMMmmmm breadsticks and salad. I love my 4runner, always wanted one, thank you honey! We bought our first house this year. I love being a home owner, so far. I try to keep a clean house, with boys running around it's hard sometimes. I love the sound of laughter in my house. I love being a mommy to two rambunctious boys and a wife to my best friend. I am sure there is more, but I am done for now =)

My favorite picture of me and my sons.

Meeting Tommy

picture with Tommy & Tommy's sister, Christine

We had a wonderful weekend. Auston was invited to a cousins birthday party, a cousin on his biological fathers side of the family. Auston has not had any contact with this side of the family for 12 years. we had been trying to set a meet with his Auntie Christine for the last couple of years, but it just never happened. and to be truthful, i didn't think it would ever happen. it made me sad to wonder why. but that all changed on sunday.....

auston has been asking about his biological father, Tommy, for a long time now. we have always kept pictures of him and his family in auston's room, not hiding my past from him. Daniel has adopted auston but, auston wanted to meet Tommy and we wanted to try and make that happen for him.

SO, sunday... Auston was nervous, i thought i might throw up when we parked in front of auston's auntie's house but, didn't thank goodness. we meet some family in the yard and then were introduce to family waiting in the house, as soon as Tommy walked into the room auston saw him and looked at me with a BIG smile on his face. i was so happy for him. Tommy was just as nervous as the rest of us. everyone was super sweet and didn't bombarded auston with any questions, waiting for Daniel and I and asking us things now and again. they didn't want to make auston uncomfortable. we spent the day with them and when it was time to say goodbye, auston was sad. his family re-assured him they would see him again. on our way home we got a text message from auston's auntie christine saying they had a great time and thanked us for coming. she wants to bring her daughter up to ramona to spend time with auston in a couple of weeks, auston is ecstatic.

Wedding Fun

Here is a picture from the bachelorette party. I am waiting on more and will post them to my facebook.

Starting off our weekend of wedding fun. we started with a rehearsal at the ceremony site. it was so pretty with the water and the smells of the ocean. it was a beautiful spot. we had a lot of fun laughing and doing a walk through for the wedding day. Anjeanette had paid for a wedding coordinator, she was AWESOME, took over and helped the bride to relax knowing "Erin" would take care of everything. i would strongly suggest getting a coordinator you soon to be brides =) Elisabeth was the Maid of Honor (Anj's sister) Shaana and I were the Bridesmaids. we enjoyed each other company and LOVED helping Anj on her special day. after the rehearsal we all went out to dinner at Bucca De Beppo's! LOVE that place, we went to the one downtown and it was GREAT. lots of laughs and fun were had there with Anj's family and Ours.

Wedding Day! We started off meeting at the brides home (my brother's house) @ 9:30 am. My #1 gal Harr was our hair dresser (Awesome Job Harr!!) and we had our make-up done by Anj's friend Tes. we were all so beautiful on this most joyous day. We finished up with hair and make-up just in time for the limo to pick us up and take us to the Maria Village in San Diego.

Well 3 miles down the road this beautiful limo blows a tire and we were made to get out of the car and wait on the side of the road for another limo. won't use any names but, that company won't get our return business. we got another limo, much smaller and were on our way. only 45 minutes off of schedule. we had enough time to change and take pictures before the ceremony started.

the ceremony was so beautiful. my brother was handsome and on top of the world. Anjeanette was a such a beautiful bride and was so far from a bridezilla, i was impressed! i felt so blessed to be a part of there wedding and will be there for anything they need. I AM READY FOR NEICES AND NEPHEWS =)

It was great to see all our family that traveled for this and our friends who we haven't seen for way to long. it was like a mini school reunion. I loved it!

we finished up at midnight and started the clean up. PAY EXTRA for the clean up crew! trust me, money well spent. we were on our way home at around 1:30 am and in bed by 3 am. the next morning we missed church because we were exhausted and had a wonderful lunch at the brides mother's home. it was great to kick back and relax with our family and our new family. we are truly blessed to have such a great family being joined to ours. GOD is GOOD =)

Oh My!

It has been over a month or so since my last post. I have been so busy this summer. The kids and I went to Oregon to watch my hubby graduate with his Master's from Southern Oregon University! We are so happy for his accomplishments. The boys and I drove up with my dad & grandma Mary and stayed in a skunner (trailer) on the Howard Prairie Lake. It was so beautiful. The boys were able to fish and kayak almost everyday. I would like to own a vacation home in Oregon, we all loved it so much. After Daniel graduated we went to Crater Lake, that was just as beautiful and Kolby was able to play in the snow for the first time (how sad it was in July) his eyes were sparkling the whole time. so cute. we also stopped at the Shasta Caverns on our way home. It was a Great Vacation. After a week we went on a shorter trip to Flagstaff for Daniel's family reunion, it has been over 20 years since their last reunion. it was so great to meet his side of the family, they were all wonderful. we all stayed at the same hotel and were able to hang out the whole weekend, over 80 people attended. Woooo Hooo to the Madrid Family Reunion! the following weekend I went to San Diego for my future sis in laws bachlorette party at the Hard Rock Hotel. needless to say, i was sick the whole time. i did manage to have some fun though. but all day saturday i was stuck in bed with little fun to be had =( my sis in law had the time of her life, and let face it, that's all that matters! well i am at home sick with pneumonia right now and am trying to get better so i can go with my sis in law to the spa this weekend (not that i haven't spent enough money this summer) and then it's the wedding on the 22nd! i am so excited for my brother and future wife Anjeanette. can't wait for their big day. But no people our summer still wont be over, school may start on the 31st but we still have one more affair to celebrate. my little boy is turning 5 in september and we are taking him to disneyland! two days at the parks! he is so excited. this will officially be the busiest summer we have ever had.

But we are loving and every minute of it and are BLESSED to be able to do them all.......

Don't understand why it says pics were added when the CLEARLY were NOT????

Saying Goodbye

We will be saying goodbye to our iguana Bud tonight. This afternoon when I put him in his newly moved and remodeled cage outside to enjoy the sunlight, I noticed his cancer had returned and come through his leg again. Although we are all really sad, I have enjoyed all 15 years of his life and Thank GOD for my LOVE for reptiles. Bud will enjoy all day out in the sun before we take him back to ACACIA tonight.

Thank You for all your LOVE and Concern for Bud over these last few months...

Love, Janet

On another note, my hubby leaves for college friday morning. we will miss him so much.

In Bloom

We are getting settled in to our new house and LOVE IT!! No buyers remorse here. We are so blessed to have been given the opportunity to become home owners. I am looking forward to all the projects we have lined up for our home. Some more painting, landscaping, changing out fixtures, updating our kitchen's lighting, adding lights to our closets, fans to some rooms, Screening in the boys balcony, Oh how the list goes on. But I am looking forward to doing it all =)

As my garden grows I am getting more and more excited. I have lots of grape vines everywhere, when we looked at the house the very first time, the owner sent us home with two bags full of grapes. Oh they were so yummy, I can't wait to share them with all my friends. My raspberries are also becoming ripe, a few a day, Double Yummy =) I also have two orange trees and I think a lime tree ( we will see) I love all my flowers, seeing new ones blossom all the time. I am reminded everyday how BLESSED I TRULEY AM =)

God Bless. I will try and blog more often!

Daniel's & Auston's Birthday's

Auston's birthday isn't until tuesday, the 19th but, he celebrated it on saturday at Ultrazone. Laser Tag! He had a blast with his dad, grandpa, uncles and 4 friends. My son will be 13, yes a teenager. Time has flown by so fast, pretty soon we will be signing up for college, oh wait, we already have. Auston will be taking college for kids classes this summer. A video game making class and an advanced video game making class. He wants to make video games, so we decided to let him check out what it in tells to see if he wants to stick with that or not. Unfortunatly we have no pictures of this event =(

On Daniel's birthday, sunday. Kolby and I took daddy out to dinner while Auston went to another bday party. We meet up with Auston later for a little fishing. Islands is one of Daniel's fav restaurants for nachos! My hubby loves his nachos =) Kolby was quite behaved. After lunch and Daniel's free dessert, we were off to dos picos for some catch and release fishing.

Kolby took this pic of Daniel and I at Islands =)

Auston's friend Marcus was having is birthday at dos picos park. Kolby asked about 100xs if we were going fishing while we were eating, in the car and when we got there. Dang kid, calm down =) Here is a picture of Daniel showing Kolby the worm they will attach to the pole. Cool!

Here is Auston and Marcus! Marcus caught 12 fish and Auston caught 3. They were so proud =)

Kolby caught 1 and wanted to catch a whole bunch more but, he didn't.

We ended our evening with cake and ice cream, yummy!

Update on My Bud

Bud's vet called. the cancer Bud has/had is bad. it grows fast and will more than likely return. the Dr. said that there is no way of telling if the cancer has already spread or not, or if he was able to remove all the cancer =( the Dr. thought he removed all of the cancer until he received the results on what kind of cancer it is/was. unfortunately the next decision is the hardest, we are going to do nothing. when/if the cancer returns we will have to put Bud to sleep. the other procedures cost a lot of money and will not guarantee the cancer will be gone.

i am going to spoil him and make him as comfortable as i can.

thank you for all your concerns and prayers.

My Mr. Bud

Who is Mr. Bud, well he is my 14 year old Iguana. He turns 15 in June of this year. I have had a hard week with him.
My story is a little graphic, I apologize.
It was such a beautiful day outside on tuesday that I wanted to put Bud outside in his enclosure. He loves to soak up the sun, his legs and arms turn a beautiful orange in the sunlight. As I put him in the cage I noticed blood on the bottom of the laundry basket that I use to bring him in and outside. I felt instantly sick to my stomach. You see, I have had Bud his whole life and I love him so much and can't believe what I am seeing at first. So, as I take a closer look at him I noticed he is bleeding from his inner right thigh and something is coming out of his leg. I can't explain the panic that went through me, a lot like the panic that runs through me when I think one of my boys is seriously injured. I call my sweet husband and he says he will come home and see if we can clean Bud up and bandage him. As I keep pacing back and forth along his out door cage, I feel sicker and sicker trying to figure out how my iguana hurt himself. I am thinking at this point he has torn his leg open inside his house cage and has broken his leg, NO his leg isn't broken he is still walking around. So then I think his muscle is coming out of his leg. I franticly call vets to find one that specializes in reptiles, Not Easy and of course not is Ramona. I wanted to be a Herpetologist for this reason. At this point am so scared for my Iguana. Thinking the worse, that I can't afford to help him and have to put him down. My husband arrives at home and took one look and Bud and told me to take him to the vet. Then he said to me "I know how much you love him". And I loose it and am now crying like a baby. I pulled myself together and found a GREAT vet in escondido, who takes him right away and care for me as soon as I walk through the door. I felt a little at ease as they console me in the waiting room. As I wait for the Dr. to come into the room, which is very quick, I have my four year old with me who is just as worried as I am about the health of Bud and I am trying to console him and talk to the nurse about what I think has happened. The Dr. arrives and we take Bud out of the laundry basket and turn him over on the table to better examine him. I gasp at the site of his wound and cry. The Dr. & Nurse both look at me and ask if I need to sit down, and I say "no, I want to help keep Bud calm".
You see, reptiles don't always handle stress very well and Bud could die from stress alone. I hold Buds arms by his side and rub him with my fingers and talk to him sweetly as he is check out. I was able to calm him down and settle his breathing. As the Dr. looked closely at Bud's wound he is sure that Bud didn't hurt himself but, in fact has a tumor that has come through the skin (sorry for being graphic) I start to cry again, thinking that ha to be so painful and that I caused it. Tumors are usually caused in reptiles by not having adequate diets or the wrong lighting. He has to have surgery to remove the mass. Poor Guy =( We had to leave Bud at the vet over night so they could wait for their top reptile people to help with surgery in the morning. I felt scared and at ease, the Dr. was such a sweet and caring man, saying "What a great specimen Bud was" and that he can tell that I take great care of him. Feeling scared was because not only do reptiles not handle stress very well, but don't handle anesthesia well either. Something to do with being cold blooded.
As I am getting ready to leave, the poor Dr. comes in one last time to Thank Me for Trusting Him with Bud and to tell me that Bud may not survive surgery or recovery. I try to hold it together for my son, and leave the vet. Kolby and I cried all the way home. When I received a call at 9:30 am the next day telling me Bud's surgery went great but, we still have to wait for him to wake up and that the mass was cancer. Cancer, well that makes me feel a little better, knowing that I might not have caused this to happen to my sweet iguana. (Reptiles take longer to wake up, cold blood.) I am happy but still uneasy as I wait for another call. I get that call at 4 pm and am told Bud is ready to come home, he is getting aggravated "that's my Bud" I say. Thank You Jesus I say and Praise God for the blessing he has given me and my family.

When we pick Bud up we are told the cancer is being sent out to get a biopsy and we would have the results next week. It all depends on what Bud had if more action needs to be taken. He has been home now for a couple of days and I can't seem to get him to eat very much and today I had to force feed him his medication, No Fun =( He can be difficult and I know he hates to ride in the car, but come on, I just saved your life! I do like his bright green bandage =) We are going back to the vet on friday to remove the bandage and check the wound. I am hoping it won't be so hard to look at this time. I will post another blog with the results =)

A Picture of Bud outside =)

My Pet Tokay Gecko, named Tokay who is also 14 years old.

My Cat Preacher, she has a white square on her neck that makes her look like a Priest.

And our pet leopard gecko, Peete =)

I will tell the story of all the reptiles I have once had and WHY I collected them to begin with at a later time =)

the home buying experience SO FAR...

casita Pictures, Images and Photos
So you all know that Daniel and I have been looking for a home to buy for about 2 years now. Many houses we have seen. My poor agent is ready to put us in a home. Well we have put in 4 offers, the first home we were out bided on (We LOVED that home), the second home - the bank wouldn't come down in price AT ALL, the third home were out bided once again and now we have been accepted on a home. We have waited over 2 months for an answer and even longer to go into escrow. We are in escrow now and have some roof issues that need to be addressed. We need a new roof on the garage for sure, it has been in bad shape for a while and leaks into the garage AND the roof on the house has many blank spaces and the edge is all torn off. We are concerned there is mold damage in the wood. Well, I got estimates on both roofs and now we will submit a "request for repair" and go from there. The really really really sad part is.... if they don't work with us on the roof situation then Daniel and I will have to walk away from this home. We can't afford to replace two roofs.

We know and trust in GOD's plan for us, but it is hard not to just give up on the dream of owning a home here in California.......

I will bog an update when answers come my way =)

Christmas/New Year's

We start this Christmas post with a trip to the Wild Animal Park for their last Festival of Lights! It will be known as Jungle Bells at the Zoo in 2009. We went with our good friends Chris, Chandra and their little girl Abi. It was cold but a lot of fun.

Here is a picture of my friends and I at Harr's Cookie Exchange, which i hope will be an annual thing from now on. I had a lot of fun and my hubby & kids liked trying all the different cookies =)

We had 3 Christmas Celebrations. the first was the weekend before at my brothers house. This is a picture of me with my future sister-in-law Anjeanette, or Uncle Nette is what my kids like to call her. We had a great time meeting her mother, step father, sister, brother-in-law and niece. They are to be married this year in August.

My brother, Uncle Jimmy with my boys.

We watched my brothers dogs while they were away for Christmas, it was so much fun for us. We can't wait to get some dogs of our own when we buy a home.

This was taken on Christmas Eve at my Mom's house. We spend Christmas Eve with my mom every year, my other brother Uncle Jordan is also in the picture =)

Christmas morning was started with my oldest waking up the youngest @ 6. Daniel made us some coffee an we all prayed for Jesus before opening up our gifts. The boys were both very happy with their gifts! Our Papa & Grandma Mary joined us later for some breakfast and watched the boys open their gifts. Later we all went down the hill to my Papa Bo's house for a great lunch and lots of laughs. the boys were anxious to get back home to play with their new toys and games. Christmas was Wonderful =)

Before New Year's we took the boys to the Balboa Park Air & Space Museum. Auston and Daniel enjoyed way more than Kolby and I. It was still fun. We even saw my hubbies boss there. Can't get away from those ramonians, lol! Kolby only had fun if he was playing with something =) After we left the museum we went to our favorite place to eat FINS, yummy!!
<

For New Year's Eve Day, Daniel and I went to see our good friends race their bug in Plaster City. Were we saw.... some more ramonians, students even, that were racing. Our friends, which I call my brothers, Won first place!!!! Yeah, Haugley Racing!!!!
